Welcome to the blog once again (with your favorite hosts)!
Today is moving day! We moved about an hour away from Ramabanta. the new place is called Molimo N' Thuse Lodge! The place is really fun and really nice. The meals are really fancy. today - we had a cheeseburger with egg on it for lunch and a t-bone steak for dinner.
As we were leaving Ramabanta, we were greeted by the kids as we were pulling out of the trading post, and it was a really hard sight to see. It shattered everyone's heart. One of the twins that Leah was really close with locked eyes with her as the buses were leaving, and it was a hard sight. The children were following the buses as we were leaving to go on the road.
After about 45 minutes we stopped at the first community center Rosenberg built. We were greeted with open arms and the kids did a little play for us about the importance of education and how it's not cool to not send your child to school because you want them to work. we joined them in playing their games and danced with them for a little bit.
Once we got here, 12 people decided to hike the "God help me pass". That was a hard hike, not going to lie. Legs were BURNING, and the elevation was making it difficult to breathe for a minute! According to our Apple watches we climbed over 800 feet of elevation in under 45 minutes.
It is a lot colder here than it is in Ramabanta, so it will take some time to get used to it but it isn't anything we have not done before. Thank goodness for heated blankets!
For our next project, we will be painting 7 classrooms and building a playground for the community here! We will have 5 days to do it so we are super excited to see it come together once again!
