Today was another workday painting the primary school. When we arrived, we separated out the rooms that needed to be finished from the previous day and started on the Grade 1 / 2 and the Grade 3/ 4 rooms. We wanted to put an affirmation wall in all of the Grade 1-5 rooms right above the sink, that is the first thing they see when they walk through the doorway. With the help of others, we came up with what we believed to be the most important words to remind the kids of every day: "I am... loved, important, valued, respected, and respectful". I was able to almost complete the writing/painting in every room. I feel very honored to have been able to be the person to paint these words because I have seen how much positive self-thoughts can help kids be more adventurous about their education.

Hey Mom and Dad!
Our time at Molimo-Nthuse Lodge is coming to a bittersweet end. Which means our time in Lesotho is also coming to an end. Words can't even describe how important and impactful this service-learning trip has been. We have been working on 5 classrooms and decorating the walls with educational paintings ranging from 7th to 1st grade. As well as building a playground from start to finish and putting shelves into their library room. We have two more workdays then we start our two-day journey to Kruger. It's very hard to say goodbye to this beautiful place that has welcomed us with open arms. Tonight, at the meeting each one of us went around and shared our feelings thus far. It was yet again another emotional one - most of us finally seeing the impact we are leaving here. However I must say I am sad to say goodbye but I cannot wait to squeeze my animals hello!!
