Business & Economics Department Anti-Racism Statement

The Â鶹´«Ã½ Department of Business & Economics is aware of the under-representation of Black, indigenous, and persons of color (BIPOC) within our department, the fields of Business and Economics, and senior, organizational leadership more broadly. We endeavor to be more effectively anti-racist by working to better understand how our own unconscious biases contribute to this inequity and how we can contribute to overcoming this injustice.

We are committed to confronting racism and microaggressions within our sphere of influence and discuss racism in business as part of our curricular and co-curricular program. We are dedicated to highlighting the contributions of BIPOC business leaders to our students as part of curriculum and assess our student’s perceptions of the racial climate within business and economic classes at Â鶹´«Ã½ annually.

We will be intentional with inclusion by seeking to creat environments in which any individual or group can be present and feel welcomed, respected, supported, and valued to fully participate. The Â鶹´«Ã½ Department of Business & Economics has implemented hiring and mentorship practices to optimize BIPOC faculty and staff success. We review progress on these commitments annually.
